Being able to create any resource from scratch is a must in teaching. You neever know when it will come in handy. Doing a project like this makes you realize the amount of material and effort you put into this class.

Self Evaluation and Reflection

Being able to create presentations is usefull in and out of the classroom. Instead of using a blain form of direct instruction, you can use a more interesting eye popping form of direct instruction. The hardest thing to me is tring to narrow down what you need to on the show, and knowing when is too much. I think that In creating in my power point that i created a good lesson. The only thing i think i could do a better job of is encorporating more media, however with the subject i choose, it is hard to gather media. I wish that i might have used less slides, however i planned this lesson to be atleast a two day instructional lesson.

Jeapordy Power Point

As a teacher i find it helpful to incorporate review strategies in my class. Using Jeopardy is a game that is easily recognizable, and fun for everyone. When i was student teaching i was able to use an actual Jeopardy game. The only problem with it was it was a pain to create a Jeopardy game. It would take somewhere from an hour to two hours to create a game. Using a Jeopardy power point template allows you to make a game in 20 minutes. This allows me to more easily use a review strategy in class.

Photostory Power Point

Being able to make a Power Point a movie is very beneficial to me as a teacher. It is relatively easy, to make a power point a movie. In my situation as a teacher in a Catholic school, sometimes i am required to do other things while i am teaching (cover for another teacher, answer a call, fix someone Else's computer). If i am doing a power point, those things disrupt the entire lesson. Being able to play the power point as a movie, can allow me to be expendable in those situations.

Google Documents and Movie Maker Presentation

To me being able to save documents in different locations is a great relief to me. I use to email it to my self, or carry a floopy disk, or even a usb key. The problem was i could forget the disk or usb key, and even my email password. Also being able to do this will allow my students to access documents on the web, that if they forgot in school they would have no ability to view them.

Power Point Presentation

I have always used power point to incorporate technology in my classroom. I feel that it is a benefit to me and my students. I can use It to present information and media about that information to my students. I also have found that students like power points. It is also very help full to me with my special education students. I can print the show of, and provide it to them with notes, or whatever accommodations i need.

I have made webshows before, but i have never done anyhitng like this. I think this my be an interesting way to put pictorial information in front of students. I might be able to adapt this to lecture my students, without even being in the room. I am really gald about making this assignment, and using this program.

Page Creator

i have created web pages before, using Netscape. This process was so much simpler and easier. I am not big in having my own things out in the public for people to see. I believe outside of this class i will probably never use this blog or page again. As for my classroom i use scholastic.com and put my classroom subject matter there.

FTP

I have messed around with things like this on my network when i was an undergrad. At my house in morgantown, my roomate was in networking, and set up a file share on our network, which we could get to if we went to hos homepage from any computer. I use to email everything to myself, but this is a much easier process. This is very useful, because you can work on/view your work when you have access to a computer. I did find this to be a little bit aggravating, because i have Internet explore 7, which makes this whole process a little more difficult.

My Personality type is ENTJ - "Field Marshall". The basic driving force and need is to lead. Tend to seek a position of responsibility and enjoys being an executive. 1.8% of total population.

I feel that this test is on the ball. I coach various sports, and i have to be in charge to feel in control of the situation, and i am more comfortable leading, than following. I really do enjoy having a great deal of responsibility, it makes me feel more in control, as well as important.

What i have learned about cover letters over the past two years, is that it sets the tone for whoever is going to look over your resume. If you have a good cover letter, it can open up the door for many job oppurtunities.
